Rusty Kelley

Prior to joining Pontem, Rusty was the Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer & Senior VP at Ranger Oil Corp, which was acquired by Baytex Energy Corp in June 2023.  Mr. Kelley was previously the Chief Financial Officer of Extraction Oil & Gas and helped to take the company public in 2016. Prior to joining Extraction, he ran the Oil & Gas practice of Moelis & Company, covering upstream and integrated oil & gas companies. Previously, he was Senior Vice President at Goldman Sachs. Mr. Kelley has executed over $70 billion of M&A/advisory assignments and has led capital market transactions raising over $15 billion for clients. He has been in the energy and financial sector since 1998 in commodities trading, corporate development and investment banking roles. He holds an MBA from The Wharton School where he graduated as a Palmer Scholar and holds a BA from Vanderbilt University.
